50°C Thermal Management PCM Can Be Added To Building Materials Such As Wall Insulation

Composition and structure:

  • Its composition usually includes a number of substances that are capable of phase changes at around 50°C.
  • For example, some specific paraffins, fatty acid esters, organic salts and other organic phase change materials, or some inorganic phase change materials such as some nitrates. In terms of structure, it may take the form of microencapsulation.
  • In the microcapsule structure, the outer shell is generally made of polymer materials, which encapsulates the phase change material inside. This prevents the leakage of phase change materials and facilitates their use in combination with other materials in different applications.
  • For example, in some coatings or plastics, microencapsulated 50°C thermal management PCMs can be evenly dispersed.

Performance Characteristics:

1. Efficient heat storage and release performance

  • When the temperature reaches 50°C, the PCM begins to undergo a phase transition. If the temperature rises from below 50°C to 50°C, the PCM will change from a relatively stable state (such as a solid state) to another state (such as a liquid state), and this process will absorb a large amount of heat, thereby effectively reducing the temperature rise rate of the surrounding environment and playing a role in temperature regulation.
  • When the temperature drops, it changes back from a liquid state to a solid state, releasing stored heat that helps keep the ambient temperature relatively stable.
  • For example, in the operation of some industrial equipment, when the local temperature is close to or reaches 50°C, the 50°C thermal management PCM can absorb heat, prevent the equipment from overheating, and maintain the normal operating temperature of the equipment.

2. Good stability

  • The microencapsulated structure can effectively protect the phase change material and make it stable during the phase change process. It can withstand multiple phase change cycles without significant degradation in performance, ensuring effective thermal management over the long term.
  • The polymer shell can reduce the reaction between the phase change material and the external environment, prevent its oxidation, deterioration, etc., and ensure its reliability in the application process.

3. Adjustability

  • By selecting different phase change material compositions, proportions, and the preparation process of microcapsules, the phase change temperature, thermal storage capacity and other properties of PCM can be adjusted to meet the specific needs of different application scenarios.
  • For example, in different industrial thermal management scenarios, the appropriate 50°C thermal management PCM can be customized according to the actual temperature requirements and heat loads.

4. Size advantage and dispersion

  • Microcapsules are generally small in size, usually at the micron level, and are well dispersed in a variety of matrix materials.
  • In coatings, plastics, fibers and other materials, it can be evenly distributed without affecting the overall performance and appearance of the material, and at the same time, it can also improve the heat exchange efficiency and make the thermal management more uniform and effective.

Fields of application:

1. Industrial thermal management

  • In industrial fields such as electronic component manufacturing and machining, 50°C thermal management PCM can be applied to heat dissipation and temperature control of equipment.
  • For example, in the production process of some electronic components, when the temperature of the equipment rises to about 50°C, PCM can absorb heat, prevent the components from being damaged due to overheating, and ensure product quality and production efficiency. In machining, some key parts of the equipment may heat up due to friction and other reasons, and PCM can play a role in cooling protection.

2. Solar thermal utilization

  • It can be applied in solar thermal collection systems. When the heat collected by the solar collector raises the system temperature to 50°C, the phase change microcapsules absorb the heat and store it.
  • The heat is then released when needed (e.g. at night or on cloudy days) and used to heat water or other media, improving the efficiency of solar energy and the stability of energy supply.

3. Building energy saving

  • It can be added to building materials, such as wall insulation, etc. In summer, when the internal temperature of the building is close to or reaches 50°C (such as in some hot areas or special circumstances), the microcapsules undergo a phase change to absorb heat, reduce the indoor temperature, and reduce the energy consumption of refrigeration equipment such as air conditioners; In winter, it can prevent indoor heat loss too quickly to a certain extent, play a role in heat insulation, and help reduce the overall energy consumption of the building.

4. Automotive field

  • In the engine compartment of automobiles, interior trims, etc., 50°C thermal management PCM can be used for temperature regulation. When the engine compartment temperature rises to about 50°C, PCM can absorb part of the heat, reduce the risk of engine overheating, and improve the efficiency and life of the engine.
  • In the car, when the temperature in the car is high in summer, the PCM can absorb heat, reduce the temperature in the car, and improve the comfort of the driver.
